What You Want Know About Ginger

My photo
Hello! My name is Ginger, which was named after my last name. I come from Kaohsiung, and my family includes my parents, older brother and younger one. I graduated from KGHS(Kaohsiung Girls' High School) this June, and I had served as a music DJ at lunch time. My hobby is playing volleyball and drawing. I sometimes go to a movie in a leisure afternoon. What's more, I have been a member of an Ocarina Orchestra for over eight years. We have some show at local museum of art on weekends. When I studied in senior high school, my dream is be a person who learns earnestly and plays joyfully. My major subject in NCCU is Management of Information System. In my opinion, my ideal college life has four aspects: schoolwork, friendship, students' club and management of health. I strongly expect myself to attend them during four years. And hope everybody has their own miraculous university life!

Welcome to 2013!

This was the first year I did not celebrate New Year Eve with my family but with my classmates, and I was a bit nervous and excited. In order to get ahead others to take better position, we got up at 7 o'clock for the bus driven to Taipei. On the bus, my hometown, Kaohsiung, wasn't sunny as usual. I felt something inexpressible in my mind, which may be called "homesick".
As soon as we arrived in Taipei, we prepared for our crazy plans. First, we had to eat full for fear that somebody would feel uncomfortable because of hunger. Thanks to our "outstanding strive", we found perfect situation in vast crowd.

We waved our hands in songs, whether powerful or romantic. When it was close to 12 o'clock, we went back to MRT station, because there we could get a better view of firework. It was an unforgettable experience in my mind.

How amazing it is that I could see what was on TV screen in front of my eyes vividly. On our way home, we met another special surprise. There was Katncandix2's mini concert in SOGO square. It was a lovely and warm beginning in a new year!

Find Feeling in Katncandix2

On December 7, my classmates invited me to enjoy a mini concert. Although I hadn't heard their songs before, I was surprised by such a special night. Katncandix2, called 棉花糖 in Chinese, made up by a male guitarist and female vocalist. The girl was so petite and cute, however, her voice was so powerful and variable that everyone was intoxicated in her songs.

I am always convinced that music is a global language and a way to cure hurt mind.  Katncandix2 wrote their songs by themselves, including melodies and lyrics. I was touched when listening to those songs in the first time. Their lyrics were commonplace but you could find something marvelous in their songs. For example, "If you don't want to be same as others, you should pay more efforts to adventure."(不想跟別人一樣,就要更努力去闖---欠一個勇敢) It encouraged me while we were so exhausted for the night of MIS. Another song written for family love, "Though I am not always by your side, a resolution in my heart was taught by you."(雖然我總是不在你身旁,卻有一股堅定是你教我的---你的肩膀我的遠方) Since I left my home for studying, I usually missed my family and old friends in midnight and it was easy to be affected by a song. When I felt upset or faced destruction in my life, their songs could warm my heart and recharged my battery to go ahead.
Music is amazing for people to express their affection and feeling, and I thought I was lucky to have a lot of friends to share music in the relaxed night. It was a miraculous experience to sing with friends in a concert.

Culture Cup With Joyful Voice

There was an event held in NCCU on last Saturday! It was annual Culture Cup contest for choir, every department did their utmost to win the first prize in the competition. Our department practiced on every Tuesday and Thursday except for the mid-exam week. I was divided into Alto, which song low-pitched in girls' voice. First, I felt it was boring and exhausted, and I sometimes skipped the exercise when I were busy.

However, I fell in love with the feeling which sang with my classmates. It sounded amazing, when we sang a same song at the same time, we could feel a affection sprung from your heart. Our song was "A Shout of Praise", it was a choral with joy. Although we didn't win any award in the end, nevertheless, we caught a lot of precious memories and experience in our lives. Through this contest, we got closed to each other. And I loved the exaggerative but beautiful make-up. We took many pictures to memorize the special experience.

Gosh! May I be a director?

In the beginning of semester assembly of our department, we elected people in charge of “The Night of MIS”, the grand show for MIS. Our performance was divided into many parts, including dance, band and drama, etc. To my surprise, someone recommended me as the director of film which advertises for our activity. In senior high school, I joined the Club of Mass Communication. We shot a micro film(微電影) or played drama sometimes. However, this is first time for me to finish a video from writing script to film-editing individually. I am a bit nervous but excited.
The story is about a couple who met incidentally and fell in love when they perceived they were college classmates. Unfortunately, the girl was diagnosed Alzheimer's disease, which resulted in losing patients’ memories. In order to cover up the state of her illness, the girl decided to turn to her ex-boyfriend, they deceived the boy that they did not break-up in fact. The boy was indignant and heart-broken, and he would not hear anything about the girl. Until one day, her best friend came to him and told the truth. Can the boy invoke the memory-lost girl? Can they be the old saying “Every Jack has his Jill”?
All you want to know are in The Night of MIS on December 21st.

An Unexpected Bowling Game

On last Friday, October 26, there is a big day to students in NCCU because an international NBA star made an instructive speech in NCCU. Nevertheless, there was something important for students majoring in Management  Information System. It is the annual mixed doubles bowling contest! All students of the department, from freshmen to seniors, can get a team with another classmate of the opposite sex. The contest was held in a bowling alley in Jhong-he,where we neeed to take the MRT for an hour almost.

We had first competition in same grade and chose eight teams, including the lead in every grade and four high-scored, into the final. As usual, the champion belonged to the seniors because of their experience. The freshmen were prey when competing with seasoned seniors.  To everybody's astonishment, this contest champion is the team made of freshmen! And their score was 139, which was 11 points higher then the second place. By the way, they were only team which made-up by freshman in the final game.

Forgetting to say, which attracted us to participate in was the price! There was 1,000 dollars but it was in our stomach now. The champion kept their words that we went to a BBQ restaurant and devour the feast because we were so hungry. I am convinced that was not a competition, but a chance to improve friendships with our classmates. Thanks to them, we all felt content both in stomach and mind.

A Nineteen-years-old Fountainer

Long time ago, there has been told when someone's birthday is coming, he or she will be thrown into the popular fountain in NCCU. On last Friday,   October 12, it was my classmate Ruby's 19th birthday. In order to prepare for her birthday, we had a meeting at ENJOY every night a week before that day. Our plan was to throw her in the fountain before Fundamental Accounting, because we thought she may guess that we  made fun of her after class. While Friday was approaching, we got bed earlier than before at 7:20 to make sure our project  can be done perfectly. Everything was ready, and we pretend  waiting somebody in front of the fountain. Catching a snatch she did not pay attention, sharp-eyed and quick-moving classmates  pushed  her into the fountain. Of course, she was soaking wet very well. Nevertheless, how sweet we are! Not only a large bath towel, but also a suit of dry clothes were there, although this was a dress Ruby  seldom wore. It was time for us to go to the class. By the way, we all changed everybody's picture into Ruby's photo a day for her.

Do you think that's all? No, The following is the highlight in our scheme. After the course of Fundamental Accounting, we bought our lunch respectively and ate together on the playground. Then, somebody suggested we play group-games. For a while, we pretended to forget her birthday gift. This is a large paper box. When she opened, there are many rolls made of newspaper. these rolls include trash, leaves, a package of flour and only a roll wrapped her present. Ruby was checking every roll and we were waiting for when she torn the roll was marked, we threw flour from her head to foot so that Ruby had a new white-hair style. We spent much time preparing this program, nevertheless, when looked the smile put on everybody's face. It is enough.

Lovely 9235, A Gourmet Heaven

I come from a hot, humid but friendly city, Kaohsiung, and I will start my brand-new freshman's life in NCCU. That's first time I left everything which I was accustomed, and I felt a bit excited and nervous.

In first place, which personality of my roommates is hovering in my mind for a long time. I hope we can chat with pleasure in readily, in fact, we are similar in many aspects, such as hobbies, sports and important of all, we love eating delicacies.

First, left-up of the picture is Fun-fun, lived in my hometown's neighbor, Tainan. She is good at dancing from jazz to popping. Fun-fun majors Law in NCCU. Her right-side is another roommate, Chio. Chio is a lovely but shy girl. We can play volleyball sometimes together. She studies in Education. Left-down is SuperWater, who is a cool guy. She comes from Pong-hu and majors in Department of Radio&Television.

When we went our home respectively at Moon Festival, we brought local products from hometown for each other. It's not only we can share tasty food, but also the nice gestures can improve our friendship closely.
From our perspective, 9235 is not a dormitory, but our home.
